David Welch, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist

David Welch Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist. Dr. Welch has been licensed since 2001 and has been working with domestic violence and substance abuse populations for 25+ years. Dr. Welch has an extensive background in helping people deal with maritalcouples’ issuesend-of-lifegrief and loss issues, and childhood trauma and abuse issues. Dr. Welch is currently seeing individuals and couples in private practice and facilitating male Batterers’ Intervention Program groups. In addition, Dr. Welch is the direct supervisor for all substance abuse programs at Wel-Mor Psychology Group, Inc. He has more than 25 years experience in various forms of substance abuse treatment, including inpatient, dual diagnosis, residential treatment program, outpatient treatment and individual therapy.

Fran Cutshaw

Fran has been working in the field of Domestic Violence for the last 18 years. She began as a Victim Advocate for women and children before becoming a case-manager and then a supervisor. In 2006, she switched over to working with offenders and has done so for the last 10 years. She facilitates both men’s and women’s Batterers’ Intervention Program groups where she helps her clients make positive changes in their lives. She is Probation-approved and also works with clients struggling with chemical dependency. She went to Cypress College and received her Drug and Alcohol certification in 2002. She is also certified as a Sexual Assault Victim counselor as well as receiving certification in Suicide Prevention. She volunteered on the Suicide Hotline for 1 year. In 2013, she became a certified Life Coach, working with individuals as well as couples. She is very persistent and tenaciously strives to achieve what she wants to accomplish, both personally and professionally. She is dedicated to work the same way in order to guide you in achieving your goals.

Lanae Farlin CADCI

Office Manager

Lanae Farlin is a Certified Addictions Counselor (CADCI) and has been working in the field of recovery since 2002. Lanae understands the disease of addiction and the negative consequences it can have on an addict and their loved ones. She has worked in many treatment modalities including Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient and Detox. Lanae has experience working with Co-occurring Disorders, Criminal Justice population, Gender Specific treatment, TAY (Transitional Age Youth) and At Risk Youth both in and out of the school system. Lanae has 14 years of experience expanding from admissions to case management, group facilitation, and individual counseling as well as discharge planning to assist with reintegration back into life after treatment.

Steve Haase

Steve Haase brings a unique blend of lived experience, entrepreneurial grit, and deep contemplative practice to his work as an addiction counselor. Before entering the treatment world, he was an original partner at The Orchard, where he played a pivotal role in scaling the company from a startup into a $100 million enterprise, ultimately leading to its acquisition by Sony Music. A certified meditation teacher, Steve has spent over 300 days in silent meditation and logged more than 10,000 hours of personal practice. He has worked in private-pay treatment centers, nonprofit programs, and Medi-Cal-funded outpatient facilities, delivering evidence-based practices with authenticity, compassion, and a touch of NYC grit… all rooted in the belief that the way out of suffering lies within.

Eleanor Nario

Since joining Wel-mor Psychology almost two years ago, Eleanor Nario has contributed as a medical biller, leveraging her AHIMA CCS Coding Credential to manage clinical data and billing with precision.  She is committed to learning more about substance abuse treatment to support the organization’s work effectively.

Martin Johns

Martin Johns, is an APCC and has been working in the field of recovery since 2024. Martin strives to understand and empathize with those suffering from the disease of addiction and the negative consequences it can have on an addict and their loved ones. He has worked in Intensive Outpatient Treatment and has experience working with individuals with Co-occurring Disorders, members of the Criminal Justice population, and At-Risk Youth. Martin has experience with case management, group facilitation, and individual counseling.

Drew Balcom, Psy.D., RPA, LPHA

Drew brings over a decade of experience to Wel-Mor Psychology Group, where he serves as a Registered Psychological Associate and Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts. He holds a doctorate in psychology and is currently accruing supervised hours toward licensure as a clinical psychologist. With a foundation as a Licensed Educational Psychologist, Drew is highly skilled in comprehensive assessment and mental health support, with a deep understanding of developmental and learning needs across the lifespan. His recovery-focused practice integrates evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing, with a strengths-based, collaborative style. Drew is committed to helping individuals facing substance use disorders build resilience, cultivate accountability, and foster meaningful connection throughout their recovery journey.

Jason Hagen

Jason Hagen, SUDRC II, has been working in the field of addiction recovery since 2022 and brings both professional training and lived experience to his work with clients. After beginning his own recovery journey in 2018 and achieving sobriety in 2020, Jason developed a passion for helping others find lasting recovery in their own lives. Having experienced the challenges of addiction firsthand, he understands the courage and commitment it takes to make meaningful change. Jason spent 27 years working in the music industry before the end of that career led him to focus fully on his recovery and a new purpose in helping others. His counseling approach centers on working collaboratively with clients to develop individualized solutions that support long-term recovery. Jason believes recovery is about more than just stopping substance use—it is about building a life with purpose, connection, and stability.

Brianna Segura:

Brianna Segura P has been working at Wel-Mor Psychology Group, Inc. since 2024 and is dedicated to supporting individuals on their path to recovery with compassion, understanding, and respect. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Health and Social Welfare, which provides her with a foundation in understanding the social and environmental factors that can impact addiction and recovery. Brianna is currently pursuing an Associate’s degree in Drug Studies to deepen her knowledge of substance use disorders and strengthen her ability to provide informed, effective care to the individuals she works with. In her work, she focuses on creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and encouraged in their recovery journey.

Ariadna Cummings, AMFT is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. She has experience working with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relational concerns, and substance use disorder (SUD)-related issues, and provides compassionate, client-centered care tailored to each person’s unique needs. Ariadna offers individual, couples, family, and group counseling, helping clients strengthen relationships, build resilience, and develop practical tools for emotional well-being. Her approach integrates evidence-based interventions—including Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—and emphasizes creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their experiences, foster healing, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.

Dean is a dedicated substance abuse counselor who has been working in the field since 2021. He has worked for private pay facilities and brings a distinct lived experience to his practices. Dean is an active member in the recovery community and speaks at treatments centers throughout Southern California. Outside of counseling he is an avid golfer. Dean brings the dedication, persistence and focus it takes to play the game into his counseling.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, she is committed to continuing her education in substance abuse and hopes to one day work with the re-entry population.

Dawn Cantero

Dawn Cantero is a dedicated Drug and Alcohol Counselor with over five years of experience working in detox, residential, and intensive outpatient treatment settings. RADT certified and currently studying for the CDACC exam, she is committed to supporting individuals on their path to recovery. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Substance Use Disorder and uses her knowledge and experience to guide clients toward lasting change and personal growth. Known for her compassionate and caring approach, she creates a safe and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel understood and supported. She focuses on building strong, trusting relationships that empower clients to actively engage in the recovery process and develop healthier coping strategies. With her experience in Substance Use Disorders, Dawn Cantero provides individualized, client-centered treatment tailored to each client’s unique needs, using her knowledge and experience to guide individuals toward lasting change, personal growth, and long-term recovery.

Rolando Navarro, CADC-CAS is a Substance Use Disorder Counselor with over eighteen years of professional experience in the field of addiction recovery. He completed his training through the CAARR program in Perris, California in 2007 and has since dedicated his career to supporting individuals seeking lasting recovery from substance use disorders. Rolando brings both professional expertise and personal insight to his work, maintaining more than twenty-two years of sobriety. His lived experience, combined with extensive clinical training, allows him to connect with clients in an authentic and compassionate way while fostering hope and resilience throughout the recovery process. Throughout his career, Rolando has worked with diverse populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, multicultural communities, and those involved in the criminal justice system. His work focuses on helping clients identify the underlying factors contributing to substance use while developing healthier coping strategies and sustainable recovery practices. Rolando is deeply passionate about guiding individuals toward a place in their lives where drugs and alcohol are no longer used to cope with life’s stressors or as a source of reward. Through empathy, accountability, and a strengths-based approach, he supports clients in building the skills, insight, and confidence necessary to create meaningful and lasting change.

Shimmer Bivens

Shimmer Bivens, AMFT is a PsyD student and Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with clinical experience across various settings. She previously spent several years working in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), where she developed specialized skills in supporting children with autism spectrum disorder and other neurodevelopmental differences across home, school, and clinical environments. This background informs her neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based approach to therapy. Shimmer is passionate about helping individuals and families deepen their understanding of emotional experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and cultivate healthier patterns of communication and connection. In her current position, she has expanded her clinical experience in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, facilitating therapeutic groups and supporting individuals in recovery. Her clinical approach integrates evidence-based modalities. Her work emphasizes increasing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and resilience while supporting clients in making meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives. As a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts, Shimmer is committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care tailored to the unique needs, identities, and lived experiences of each individual and family she serves.

With over nine years of experience in the field, Simone is a state-certified Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor II (SUDCC II) with an Associate’s degree and a strong commitment to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery. She primarily works with adults but has also worked with adolescents in her current role. Her counseling style is compassionate, direct, supportive, and client-centered while also emphasizing structure and accountability. She utilizes evidence-based approaches including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and 12-step principles, while also incorporating faith-based interventions when appropriate. She advocates for abstinence-based recovery while remaining knowledgeable about harm reduction strategies and meeting clients where they are in their recovery journey. Her goal is to help clients build a foundation for long-term recovery, and she believes that individuals who are willing to put in the work can achieve meaningful and lasting change. As someone who is personally in recovery, She feels a deep connection to the population she serves and finds great fulfillment in supporting others on their path to sobriety. Throughout her career she has worked for several treatment centers, and she is proud to be part of Wel-Mor Psychology Group Inc., which she believes has been the most supportive and rewarding agency she has worked with.
